Well ladies and gents, it’s that time of the month! No, not THAT time of the month, time for What to Watch on Netflix where I, LifeBlog’s editor, rate movies and tv shows to make your Netflix viewing experience great. This week I have a documentary show and an indie movie (what a surprise). So let’s get to it!

god bless america

God Bless America (2011)

Starring: No one in particular

Genre: Indie, Comedy, Parody

Netflix Description: Disgusted with American society, middle-aged Frank and teenage Roxy begin killing reality TV stars, bigots and others they find repugnant.

My Review: This movie is probably my favorite indie movie of the 2010’s. It has a lot of gore and a great script. If you’re into movies that make fun of reality tv and just stupid fucking people in general, this movie is for you. Hopefully you don’t get any ideas from Frank and willy nilly go killing people who cut you off on the freeway.

The Writers Room

The Writer’s Room (2013)

Host: Jim Rash

Genre: TV Show, Behind the scenes documentary

Netflix Description: The Writers’ Room, hosted by Academy Award winning writer, Jim Rash, gets real with the most innovative voices in TV today. Join us for a frank and revealing conversation about what we all love: television!

My Description: This show is ok. I like it, but only when it covers tv shows I actually watch. Currently, there is only 1 short season up on Netflix, but I nevertheless enjoyed the writers from Game of Thrones and Park and Recreation. If you love television and are curious as to what inspires the writers of your favorite shows, this is definitely for you!
