Miscaptured Images

Sometimes as writers we imagine the perfect story in mind with all the right elements in mind. This is an exciting feeling because for once, everything is clear. There are no doubts whether the idea is good or not, it’s just matter of writing it down. The problem is, after writing down this amazing story you realize it isn’t right. Maybe it’s the wording or a small detail, but it feels wrong. I like to think of moments like these as miscaptured images. The picture is vivid in your mind but you fail to capture it correctly in writing.

How do we as writers work towards capturing that perfect image? This is something I’ve been struggling with a while so I’d love to hear from other bloggers and writers.
