MOVIE DISCUSSION – X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men Days of Future Past is the seventh film in the X-men franchise and focuses on Logan (better known as Wolverine) traveling back in time in order to prevent a terrible future. Just like previous movie discussions I will do a quick rundown instead an outright review. Let’s get down to business. *Minor Spoiler Alert

  • Great time travel plot
  • A level of depth to each character: learned about their motivations, struggles & intentions
  • Use of original and new cast members
  • Reset time stream
  • Sentinels are badass

  • Could use a little more action
  • Felt like the X-men were fighting the future, not Trask
  • No Nightcrawler

Closing Thoughts

  • Love Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique
  • Real sense of desperation and urgency
  • Movie does a great job of not focusing too much on one character
  • Interesting special effects
  • Still have no idea what Warpath’s abilites are
  • Apocalypse easter egg? Cool!

What did you guys think of X-Men: Days of Future Past? What are you looking forward to in the future films? Leave a comment! I would love any feedback!

  1. I agree most of your points. I especially liked how they handled the two concurrent timelines. Because normally with time travel in films, it seems like the changes in the past would take effect immediately in the future, but the mechanic here was good. I disagree about the action, tho. I felt there was a decent amount and they were pretty intense, especially the opening scene. I can’t wait to see more of Quicksilver in X-Men: Apocalypse. Great review, Patrick.
